Hip Operation Music Management Company To Expand

MUSIC MANAGEMENT COMPANY TO EXPAND

A music management company that started out as a group of musicians helping each other cover gigs during busy periods has extended operations from its North East England base to cover the whole of the UK.

Hip Operation was founded by rock drummer Steve Dolder in 2003. What began as an informal network of musicians who would cover for each other in the event of a double booking has grown into one of the largest professional music management companies in the north of England.

The artists represented range from solo singers and performers, through string quartets and pipers to rock, pop and tribute bands. This range of talent led to enquiries from across the UK, and Hip Operation into offering a UK wide management and bookings service.

Hip Operation Managing Director Steve Dolder says:

“Back in 2003 we were a group of musicians who would swap notes on venues, potential bookings and who would cover for each other during busy spells. As word spread, more bands and acts joined the group so in late 2003 we decided to put the business on a professional footing with a business plan and management structure. Our name has spread among UK musicians and venues by word of mouth to the point where we are able to offer representation to acts throughout the country. However as we grow, we are determined to retain our original ethos which is ‘Musicians managed by musicians’.
